Don’t have the tools, time, or woodworking prowess to complete your Pinewood Derby car? No problem! Wednesday January 28th Pack Meeting will be dedicated to the preparation of your car!
What to bring: Please bring your PWD car kit (at whatever stage you are in) and weights, you can purchase weights online, at the Scout Shop or you can use washers, nuts, coins, etc. Our goal is to help you get as close to completion as possible.
The clinic is an opportunity for our Scouts to get some assistance working on their cars. We’ll have a limited number of design concepts available for the Scouts to choose from, or they are welcome to bring their own ideas. We will have tools for the Scouts to cut out and sand their cars, as well as drill holes for weights. We will review rules and any questions you may have. Please also remind your Scouts that we will have a limited amount of time available so we won’t be able to help with overly complex designs. Note that front of the car has longer space to the wheel slot compared to with back.
For safety reasons there should not be no crowd of Scouts around any power tools (Adults will operate power tools). Please encourage Scouts to be patient and wait for their turn to get car worked on one step at a time.
