Hiking Club

Who: All Scouts & Families

What: We are starting a Hiking Club that will meet at various hikes throughout the area once a month.

Where: Various hiking locations around the Lehigh Valley. Locations will be announced a month ahead of time. Hikes will also be listed on our website calendar.

When: Once monthly on a Saturday or Sunday as scheduled

Why: Because we love the outdoors and exploring new places!

Hikes will be approximately 2-3 miles each and approximate distances will be stated when the hike is announced. We may add longer hikes later in the year as the Scouts get accustomed to hiking greater distances. Join us for any or all of the hikes—whatever works in your schedule; we want to get outside more!

Award patches will be given at each milestone. After their first hike, they will receive the center circular patch. As miles hike accumulate, patches will be awarded at 5, 10, 20, and 30 miles. A custom wooden hiking stick will be awarded at 25 miles.

10/4 - Jacobsburg Park (426 Belfast Road, Nazareth)

Henry’s Woods Trail, ~2 miles, moderate

Thanksgiving Hike Trail to Sheep Rock Meet at Kalmbach Parking Lot

Thurs. 11/27 5:45am - Sheep Rock Thanksgiving Sunrise Hike

Meet at Macungie Fire Department (open to the public so bring your family and friends!)

Wear good hiking shoes (hike is steep at the end) and bring a flashlight/headlamp. Sunrise service at the top. Donuts and hot chocolate after at the fire dept.
